Penneshaw Fishing

Try your luck at fishing off at Penneshaw’s Hog Bay Jetty - tommy ruff, trevally, snook and King George whiting are common here and can be caught in peaceful, picturesque surroundings. Penneshaw Walks
Walk along the coast into Baudin Conservation Park and see wallabies sheltering under the bushes to escape the heat. Other activities include swimming off one of the safest beaches on the island.

Penneshaw Penguins

Penneshaw is home to a colony of Little Penguins. Tours are conducted nightly from the Penguin Interpretive Centre.

Penneshaw Kangaroo Island Farmers’ Market

The monthly Kangaroo Island Farmers’ Market in Penneshaw is a popular event with locals and visitors alike, bringing local farmers, growers, bakers, home gardeners and a range of artisan producers together. Each month the seasonal selection might include local lamb and small goods, olive oil, organic honey, biodynamic eggs, fresh water crayfish, oysters (in season), sheep cheeses and yoghurts, sticky figs and fig syrup, handmade cordials, curry pastes, chutneys and relishes, local wine, old fashioned biscuits and a range of other handmade delectables, all complemented by fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables. The experience is completed by wine and product tastings, cooked breakfast and lunch, delicious coffee and a great village atmosphere in a spectacular location right alongside the beach in Penneshaw. The Kangaroo Island farmer's market is held on the 1st Sunday of every month 9am to 1pm by the beach, Llyod Collins Reserve.
