Sea Dragon Lodge is pleased to offer luxury 4WD Kangaroo Island Tours exclusively for our guests staying at the Lodge & Villas. As our Kangaroo Island Tours are private (ie there are no other guests in your car), it means you get to enjoy the island’s treasures in relaxed comfort and privacy. With the help of your experienced tour guide, you decide which places you want to visit and how long you wish to stay. Our Kangaroo Island Tours include:

Our tours are very much designed to allow you to “see as much as possible, but not at a frantic pace, with time to stop and look and take photographs”. You will see many different types of wildlife on this trip as well spectacular scenery.

Our tours depart directly from Sea Dragon Lodge and generally leave around 9:00am and return around 5:30pm.


Personalised Itinerary – Kangaroo Island 4WD Tours

Our experienced guides will design a tour to suite your specific interests for example:

  • Kangaroo Island Food & Wine Tour
    This Tour may start withfresh Oyster for morning refreshment at the American River Oyster Farm, then onto a wine immersion experience at Islander Estates, followed by lunch at the amazing Enchanted Figtree Restaurant where you are served up a banquet inside a 150 year fig tree and topped off with great wines and a stunning view at Dudley Wines in the afternoon. There are of course many other great venues for lunch.
  • Kangaroo Island Arts and Crafts Tour
    This tour may take in places such as the glass artist at Pelican Lagoon, Rustic Blue Gallery, Kangaroo Island Fine Arts Gallery and design jewellery(Kingscote) and perhaps a visit to the quirky Kangaroo Island Spirits to try their globally award winning gin or a visit to KI Pure Dairy to try their sheep milk dairy products.
  • Kangaroo Island Birdwatching Tour
    This tour starts at Sea Dragon Lodge which has an amazing variety of birds in the wild on its 250 ace estate. We can visit nearby Lashmar Lagoon & Chapman River to see water birds, Duck Lagoon t (near Kingscote)and Murrays Lagoon to see water birds. The Raptor Domain offers a great display which showcases many of Australia’s raptors such as the majestic Wedge Tail Eagle.

One Day Kangaroo Island 4WD Tour – Suggested Itinerary

If you are primarily interested inKangaroo Island wildlife in the wild and its spectacular coastal scenery, we generally suggest that a one day tour visits Kangaroo island's "jewels in the crown" including: Pennington Bay, Seal Bay, Admirals Arch, Weir’s Cove, Remarkable Rocks, and short walk in the Flinders Chase National Park to view Koalas in the wild.


Two Day Kangaroo Island 4WD Tour – Suggested Itinerary

A 2 day will allow you to see most of what the island has to offer including visiting some special places not visited by the average tourist.

Day 1 – Kangaroo Island South Coast

Pennington Bay, Seal Bay, Raptor Domain, Admirals Arch, Weir’s Cove, Remarkable Rocks, Hanson Bay Koala Walk, Hanson Bay & Vivonne Bay.


Day 2 – Kangaroo North Coast

Cape Willoughby Lighthouse, Antechamber Bay, American River, Western River Cove, Snellings Beach, King George Beach, Stokes Bay, Emu Bay, Kingscote


Three Day Kangaroo Island 4WD Tour – Suggested Itinerary

If you have the luxury of spending 3 days touring the island, you will be able to all the highlights in a relaxed manner

Day 1 – Kangaroo Island South Coast

Murrays Lagoon, Vivonne Bay, Admirals Arch, Weir’s Cove, Remarkable Rocks, Hanson Bay Koala Walk, Hanson Bay & Marron Farm for a delicious meal of Marron (Kangaro Island’s fresh water lobster.


Day 2 – Kangaroo North Coast

Honey Farm, Sheep Dairy, Parndana Wildlife Sanctuary, Western River Cove, Snellings Beach, King George Beach, Stokes Bay, Emu Bay, Kingscote & Pelican Feeding


Day 3 – Dudley Peninsula and Central KI

Cape Willoughby Lighthouse, Antechamber Bay, Dudley Wine Cellars, Island Beach, Pennington Bay, Prospect Hill, American River Oyster Farm, Raptor Domain, Seal Bay, Bales Beach.
